History & Powerful Influence

The DISC model originates from early 20th-century psychology and the work of Dr. William Moulton Marston, who introduced it in his 1928 book "Emotions of Normal People." Marston focused on understanding everyday emotions and behaviors, identifying four primary emotional responses: Dominance, Inducement (later Influence), Submission (later Steadiness), and Compliance (now Conscientiousness). Marston theory laid the foundation for the DISC model, which was developed into a practical personality assessment in the 1950s and 1960s.

Over time, the DISC model has evolved and is now widely used for personal development, corporate training, and enhancing communication, teamwork, and leadership. The DISC model is a practical tool for understanding and improving interpersonal relationships, helping individuals understand and adapt their behavior to others. The model enhances self-awareness, empathy, and communication, making it valuable in both personal and professional settings for team building, leadership development, and conflict resolution. Beyond categorization, DISC offers a framework for personal growth and adapting to various situations, making it a powerful tool for improving interpersonal skills.
